"The staff of all staffs, no one can escape!"
Stalker Staff is a Weapon introduced in 1.3.1 which has homing energy blasts. This weapon almost never misses a target.
Weapon overview[]
- 100% damage
- 115% attack speed
- Homing projectiles
- Average knockback
The name of the game with this weapon is, the more projectiles the better. And compared to other weapons, this is the only other weapon that has a faster attack speed bump than average, the other being the Saw Blade.
Only few disadvantages of the weapons that the projectiles are quite slow making even homing on faster moving melee troops difficult to lock on. The weapon also does have a bit of a start up time before the energy blasts are released but that could also give a window of time to time your dodges if that can be managed properly. Additionally, the staff’s projectiles are summoned in front of the player instead of originating from the player’s actual position. This means that enemies that move into the bullets before they release will be hit with every single projectile at once. This makes the Stalker staff extremely potent at melee range as enemies in close proximity to the player will be hit by every single one of the player’s projectiles.
Rarity Effects[]
- Rare: +5% Damage
- Epic: The lower the target’s HP, the higher is the critical chance.
Ability Synergies[]
Pro[]
Diagonal Arrows - Best pickup for projectile upgrades. Because of the staff's homing projectiles, the first pickup of diagonal arrows pretty much guarantees triple the damage amount. Bear in mind, while this makes it good for single targets and bosses, in turn it is not as good for clearing huge mobs the way other weapons do.
Side/Rear + Bouncy Arrows - Not as large of a pickup as Diagonal arrows, but still a good pickup nonetheless if you need protection from the sides and rear.
Ricochet - With more projectiles homing in as a result of Diagonal and Side Arrows, this can be a ideal way to make up for the serious lack of AoE damage that the stalker staff desperately needs.
Piercing Arrows - Another viable pickup if players cannot seem to find ricochet because combined with homing, the total effect is very similar to Ricochet. After passing through the first enemy, it'll home in on another target. Therefore either one of Ricochet or Piercing will be enough.
Multiple Shot - Pretty much a no-brainer for all weapons. More shots, the more hits the enemy will suffer.
Critical Mastery - Not as big of a damage buff because as the enemy gets hit more, the critical ratio increase kicks in. However the increase in Critical Damage is also a decent upgrade should this be available.
Con[]
Front Arrow - Reduces damage of all projectiles
