Stage 5, 15, 25, etc. are angel rooms (except stage 75, for some reason, which is just a regular monster room; it's not known whether this happens at higher levels too). Stage 10, 20, 30, etc. are boss rooms.
There will be a room with a Mysterious Magician in the beginning and seemingly every 20th stage from stage 31 onward. They will offer a buff which will either last for 3 rooms or for the rest of the run. Buffs can show up with an "Adv", presumably meaning they are a more powerful version of the regular buff. They can also show up with an "Med", which doesn't have an obvious meaning. The buff in the beginning can be refreshed; the first 2 refreshes are free, but for later ones you need to watch an ad or pay gems.
The difficulty does not scale with your chapter progress, unlike most other events. Instead, the difficulty is fixed, with early stages matching the difficulty of early chapters and it getting increasingly difficult as you progress.
You get to play with 3 different heroes. You start with your selected hero. If you die, you get to choose a different hero you own to continue playing with. This happens twice. The abilities you gain during the run apply to all 3 of the heroes.
The highest stage you clear each season is recorded. At the end of the season you get some rewards based on this if you reached at least stage 50, with you getting a better reward every 10th stage between stage 50 and 200 and every 50th stage between stage 200 and 400. The rewards include runes (stage 150+), gems, obsidian keys, golden keys, scrolls, sapphires and coins.
The amount of sapphires gained is decent, but other rewards gained from this event are low for the time and energy investment. Especially at high player levels, it can be quite time consuming to play through this event, and you'll most likely receive similar or better rewards by playing one run of a chapter or another event. It is, however, worth playing once a season to get the season rewards, and it might also be worth playing again if you can beat your highest stage up to the next reward tier. It may also be useful for getting monster kills for egg hatching (although it may or may not work for this) or for seasonal events like the Summon Demon event that took place July 2021.
